My philosophy is simple; Education Vs. Intimidation
Horses ultimately retain more through education rather than intimidation, this is the key to a confident consistent barrel horse. I spend time with each horse, at their level of training to make a confident winner on the pattern. I strive for consistency and exactness on fine details each time I ride. Teaching the horse the 'right way' from the start helps diminish bad habits later in training.
Many life long habits begin in the first 30-60 days of riding and the first 1-2 months on the barrel pattern. Anyone can take a horse around a barrel, but make no mistake, it doesn't mean that the horse is receiving a correct foundation for a lifetime. Experience is the key to seeing problems before they ever happen to avoid them. My main objective in my barrel training is getting a horse light and responsive to me. This means broke in the face, soft at the poll, soft in the jaw, flexible in the shoulders, flexible in the rib cage, and proper hip movement. This in turn makes for a smoother, flatter, faster turn, which makes for a quicker take-off and a winning time! Body position is everything, it can make you or break you!
I educate horses how to win, I literally program WIN into them!
Rates are $700.00 per month for Training.This includes a 12X12 box stall with shavings cleaned twice per day, Alfalfa or Costal hay, turn-outs, sandy arena, horses are worked 6 days per week, lots of trails, and lots of care. Also, this includes 2 lessons on your horse each month.This does not include hauling to barrel races, vet work, shoeing, or any other needs.
Rates are $500.00 per month for Sale horses. This includes feeding, exercising, placing ads, making calls, showing your horse, and keeping your horse looking good!This does not include hauling, vet work, shoeing, training/tuning on barrels.
Lesson Rates are $35.00 per hour. Lessons fill up fast so get in early! Come learn the in's and outs of winning! I can also drive to your home or an arena in your area for a small gas fee to make it easier for you. I know time is precious.
Trainers can't make you win, they just give you the steps, YOU are who makes you win. You write your own path to be a star!
